homochrom stands for selected LGBT cinema in the metropolitan area Rhine-Ruhr—continuously since 2009. Monthly gay screenings are shown in six of the biggest cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, bi-monthly lesbian screenings in four cities.
The 7th Filmfest homochrom takes place in October 2017 and is the second-biggest queer film festival in Germany already. More than 20 features and many short films in several programmes compete for the audience award “Chromie”. The festival stands out for its many German premieres, invitations of international film guests, providing German subtitling throughtout, and projecting every film in the proprietary cinema format DCP for the best experience. Most of the festival takes place at Filmforum NRW in the building of Museum Ludwig right behind the cathedral.
* The discount applies to all events of the 7th Filmfest homochrom in Cologne, Köln (Oct 17-22, normal price usually 9€).
