Institute for Contemporary Art
The KW Institute for Contemporary Art dedicates itself to central questions of our present through the production, presentation and communication of contemporary art. Since it was founded more than 30 years ago, KW has established itself as an institution and a lively place for progressive artistic practices in the Berlin and international art scene.
By means of exhibitions and a wide variety of event formats, the KW always pick up on current trends from the national and international contemporary art and culture discourse and actively develop them in cooperation with artists, with institutions and through commissioned work. KW does not have its own collection, which gives the KW team a high degree of flexibility in terms of programming and addressing the audience.
30 Years of KW
In the 30 years of its existence, KW shaped the role of contemporary art in current social discourse. By means of exhibitions, commissioned work and interdisciplinary events in cooperation with artists and other institutions, KW continues to pick up on current trends from the national and international contemporary art and culture discourse and develop them further.
