Welcome to the Illuseum Berlin – Where optical illusions meet marine conservation

At the Illuseum Berlin, visitors are greeted by a world where perception is playfully turned upside down. Rooms change shape, perspectives shift, and familiar rules suddenly seem to no longer apply. But behind all these astonishing effects lies more than just entertainment: the museum uses its illusions to draw attention to the importance and vulnerability of our oceans.

Optical illusions demonstrate how easily our view of the world can be influenced—an ideal approach to raising awareness about environmental and marine conservation. As guests wander through the interactive rooms, they discover not only surprising effects but also new perspectives on ecological responsibility. With the QueerCityPass Berlin, you also receive a 25% discount on adult tickets*.

An experience for young and old

The Illuseum Berlin invites people of all ages to challenge their senses. Slanted rooms, impressive holograms, and astonishing shifts in perspective inspire wonder while also sparking reflection. Some installations explore themes related to ocean conservation and offer new perspectives on the fragile underwater world.

The museum’s core concept: enthusiasm for illusions knows no age. Whether it’s people who seem to grow or shrink, rooms that defy logic, or optical illusions that trick the eye, each station invites visitors to playfully explore how perception works. At the same time, it fosters an awareness of just how valuable and worthy of protection our environment is.

Discovering Illusions – and Seeing the World in a New Light

Among the highlights of the Illuseum are the famous Ames Room, the impressive Vortex Tunnel, and rooms that are perfect for taking spectacular photos of optical illusions. A new feature is the connection between visual effects and environmental education: Installations address topics such as plastic waste, overfishing, and the consequences of climate change, demonstrating how easily our eyes can be deceived—and how important it is to look more closely.

Particularly exciting is the collaboration with Berlin-based artists. They are creating exclusive works that combine illusion, art, and marine conservation, thereby fostering a creative exchange between visitors, science, and art.

Illusions that make a difference

A portion of the Illuseum’s proceeds goes to organizations and initiatives that are actively committed to protecting the oceans. Every visit thus supports not only an extraordinary experience but also concrete environmental projects.
