Discover the secrets of Schlumberg on a tour of 300-year old cellars. Immerse yourself in the world of sparkling delights and taste refined Austrian wines.
Schlumberger expertise has been cultivated and continuously refined in this traditional Austrian house since 1842. This fine art is also applied to champagne, a skill learned by Robert Schlumberger in the oldest champagne cellar in France, Ruinart Père et Fils in Reims, and he imported this secret to Vienna and fine sparkling Schlumberger has been produced ever since.
The visitors’ tour shows you everything you need to know about the manufacture of Sekt and champagne – from proper storage and the secrets of tasting. You will accompany the grape on a tour of the senses from Rebstock to the sparkling Mousseux, finishing off, of course, in the glass. In the impressive cellars you will agitate bottles on wooden remuage shaking machines, discover secrets about ‘degorging’, ‘dosage’ and cellar marks. At the end of the tour you will have the chance to taste some of Schlumberger’s best products. Take a look in our new shop and find Schlumberger specialities, accessories for enjoying sekt, great gift ideas, Schlumberger pralines, and Elfenhonig honey from a hive in our own garden in Vienna’s Heiligenstadt.
